This summer ProQuest released it’s new platform. Before, ProQuest products like ProQuest and Illumina had to be searched using separate interfaces. Now, the new platform combines ProQuest, Illumina, and selected Chadwyck-Healey products. Eventually all ProQuest products will be available through this new display.
In early August our ProQuest rep., Sharon, came by the library and showed us all the great new features now available in this platform:
- Quick Search box
- Subject areas
- Tagging
- Tools that allow you to create RSS feeds, save your searches, and create search alerts
- Article preview
- Thumbnail icons showing you what type of resource the item is (peer-reviewed, newspaper, magazine, wire feeds, etc.)
- My Research: personalize your research experience here! Allows users to save, cite, manage, and share the content you find in ProQuest
We were all very impressed with the new ProQuest platform. It is a much needed upgrade. Included below is a quick start guide to ProQuest. If you have any questions about using it, please stop by the Reference Desk and speak to a librarian.
