Welcome back from Thanksgiving Break! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoyed their time off. Now we’re in the final stretch till the end of the semester. Be on the look out for our extended finals hours here in the library. They will start on December 4th.

Currently, we are trialing three new databases in EBSCOhost. When you access EBSCO, you’ll see on the top of the screen where you make your database selections, a yellow bar. In the yellow bar are links to try searching the trial databases. Here’s a little more information about them…

American Theological Library Association (ATLA) Historical Monographs Collection: (Two databases)
The ATLA Historical Monographs Collection consists of two series that provide access to more than 29,000 titles—or more than 10 million pages—focused on religion and theology. Dating mostly from 1850 through 1923, a time of great doctrinal, social and organizational turmoil and upheaval in American culture, this resource is vital for scholars seeking to understand religious thought and practice in the 19^th and early 20^thcenturies.

• Judeo-Christian Religions

• Social Movements

Series 1
ATLA Historical Monographs Collection: Series 1 contains over five million pages of content, and consists of titles from the 13th century through the 1893 World Parliament of Religions with the majority of titles from the 19th century. Since religion was such an integral part of the social, political and economic fabric of life during the time period of this collection, historians researching a wide range of areas, not just religion, will find invaluable material relevant to their work.

Series 2
ATLA Historical Monographs Collection: Series 2 consists of titles published from 1894 through 1923. This collection offers material on the significant shifts in the religious identification of Americans and the growing interest and experimentation with non-Western religions. It presents a comprehensive picture of American life at the time.

The collection includes:

• Materials covering the evangelical movement and evangelical sermons covering the debates between science and religion
• Biographies of 19^th century theologians, providing perspective on how and why these leaders were valued in the 19^th century
• Books by and about women and the church
• Books about Native Americans and their religion

Art & Architecture Complete
A leading database for the study of art and architecture, this database provides full-text coverage of 380 periodicals and more than 220 books. In addition, Art & Architecture Complete offers cover-to-cover indexing and abstracts for more than 780 academic journals, magazines and trade publications, as well as for over 230 books. The database also provides selective coverage for 70 additional publications and an Image Collection of over 63,000 images provided by Picture Desk and others.
