Welcome back to another semester! Hopefully you are returning well-rested and ready to hit the books again. Over break, we’ve been updating our website, creating an online guide to research, and checking out new resources. One loose end to wrap up from last year is a re-cap of the Havana ’59 art exhibit. Held on November 11, from 6pm-9pm at Bolingbrook Mansion, over 200 guests turned out to support the show and its cause- the David R. Black Academic Enrichment Fund. Last October, we featured an interview with artist George Rothacker about the paintings featured in the show. You can read that interview here- https://warnerlibeu.wordpress.com/2011/10/31/an-interview-with-artist-george-rothacker-on-his-upcoming-havana-59-show/
The exhibit was a great success, raising $27,000 towards the David R. Black Academic Enrichment Fund. Castro even made an appearance…
You can view more photographs from the event on the library’s Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/wmlib
In the coming weeks you can look forward to posts about our new online guide to research, information about the library’s upcoming print exhibit in McInnis and more great news about the library. We’re excited for a new semester!
