This summer, the library’s grant application to the National Network of Libraries of Medicine Middle Atlantic Region (NNLM/MAR) for their Technology Improvement Award was accepted. Written and administered by Mark Puterbaugh, the grant monies will go toward the creation of a Mobile Instructional and Design Lab (MIDL) that seeks to address the growing need of libraries at Eastern and across the country to develop and use new technologies that can meet the needs of a rapidly changing and growing non-traditional student population. The lab will provide a space used to design, create, test and implement mobile technologies to meet the growing needs of students. Both faculty and students can visit the lab to learn how to create mobile-friendly formats to use in their coursework. Currently, the library is in the early planning stages of the first mobile instruction session. If you are interested in participating, contact Mark at mputerba@eastern.edu.
