Part of being a librarian involves growing the library’s book collection. It also means that as you add new material, you need to “weed” (remove) older books- those not circulating or superseded by newer editions. What happens to weeded books? Over the summer, Warner Library donated some of our weeded books to the Olivia S. Washington School of Liberia (http://oswschofliberia.synthasite.com/home.php).
Here is the email response we received on behalf of them:
I just wanted to try and reiterate just how truly thankful I am for the many books you have contributed to the Olivia S. Washington School of Liberia. I wanted to share that the books are definitely being put to great use and the children and our community will thrive for years to come thanks to Eastern and the gift of these books!
