A little institutional history…
The Abram S. Clemens Chair of Biblical Studies was created in 1985 with the appointment of Dr. Kenneth Maahs to the position. The chair was created in honor of Abram S. Clemens who was the President of Hatfield Packing Company. In his retirement, Mr. Clemens served on the University’s Board of Trustees.
Grace F. Kea, who the American History chair is named in honor of, was an active figure in advancing the mission of Eastern. She was bestowed an honorary doctorate from Eastern in 1974 and co-chaired the Partnership in Faith Campaign. Larry Ziglar was the faculty member who first held this endowed chair in 1978.
