This week is National Library Week (April 12th – 18th). We’re celebrating by showing our support of Eastern Libraries. In the library this week we have on display iconic READ posters featuring Eastern University Libraries librarians as well as EU administrators like Dr. Duffett and Dr. Iddings (among others).
Here are some fun facts about National Library Week:
- It’s a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries across the country each April.
- The first National Library Week took place in 1958, with the theme “Wake up and read!”
- Best-selling author David Baldacci will serve as Honorary Chair of National Library Week 2015.
- National Library Week 2015’s theme is “Unlimited possibilities @ your library”
You can show your support of libraries with National Library Week web badges available at http://www.ala.org/conferencesevents/celebrationweeks/natlibraryweek
Or, share what you’ve done with the help of libraries on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #librarymade.
Daily we’ll be updating our Facebook page with a new READ image of EU administrators and librarians.
