Life as a Librarian

Survey Says…

For two days, Warner Library held a survey among the students regarding changes that we made to the building over the summer.  We asked several questions, three of which were rated on a scale of 1 (bad) to 8 (great!), and the 23 responses we got are outlined below:

“Rate the new study rooms’ designs upstairs.” 45% responses gave us a “Great” rating for the updated looks we gave the study rooms, including new carpet, blinds, whiteboards, and a fresh coat of paint. One of the other comments left by students requested a clearer system of room reservation; this is something we can certainly do for you, so keep your eyes peeled for signage in the future.

“Rate the new library website design.” 43% responses gave us a “Good” rating for the new library website design, prompted by a site-wide update across Eastern. Of the comments left about the website, a call for WEPA printing info caught our attention – and, luckily, we have already done this! Information regarding the WEPA print system on campus can be found in our Technology page, as well as in the Technological Services page on the main site.

“Rate the overall library experience you’ve had so far this year.” 52% responses gave us a “Great” rating on the overall experience they’d had in the library – not bad for the first three months of the semester! Even more interestingly, the majority of our responses (36%) came from sophomores, meaning these are people who have used our services in the past and have truly come to notice a difference from the previous year.

We hope to continue to serve the student body to the best of our ability in the future, so do not hesitate to talk to us about how we can improve!
