where to go to request an article? Find our hours? Stay up-to-date with the library’s latest news? How to log into you account in the library catalog?
This week’s blog is dedicated to answering a few of our most frequently asked questions. Hopefully you’ll find this useful. Next week we’ll take a look at a special collection housed here in the library…
FAQs
1. How late are you open till?
You can find the library’s hours of operation on our homepage under “About Us” or by visiting the following link- http://bit.ly/bod8Bi
2. Can I access the Eastern University databases from off-campus?
Yes! You will need a MyAthens account. Contact the Reference Desk at Warner Library, reference1777@eastern.edu or call the library at 610-341-1777. Be prepared to provide your Eastern University e-mail address and Eastern ID number.
3. Can I find out which journals are available through the Library?
You can see a listing of journal titles by using the Eastern University Journal List link, available through our website. This lists full-text journals available online, as well as journals found in print or on microfiche and microfilm in Warner Memorial Library.
4. I found an article in a database, but it says I need to login or pay for full-text access to it?
First, make sure we don’t carry the full-text article in another one of our databases. You can check by searching our A-to-Z Journal List for the journal title the article is published in (see FAQ #3).
Once you’ve checked the A-to-Z List and determined that we don’t have access to the full-text, then you should request the article through our RAPID ILL service. Click here for more details about Rapid- http://bit.ly/1SnQWY
5. I am searching in the library’s catalog and would like to request a book that is currently checked-out. I am having trouble logging into the My Account feature.
The very first time you try to login to your account within the library’s catalog, you must login using your Eastern University ID number as your “Library ID” and the last four digits of that number as the “PIN”. Once logged in, you will see on the right side menu the option of creating an “EZ Log On” where you can choose a specific username & password to use in future logins.
6. Are you on Facebook? Twitter?

8. Where is the best place to start my research?
Visit our research guides- LibGuides, at http://libguides.eastern.edu/. Each guide contains an overview of databases, journals, websites, books, and more to help point you in the right direction. They are organized by subject.
9. Where are the “Stacks”?
