New this semester to our Eastern community is access to the New York Times. Through the newspaper’s “pass” feature, our students, staff and faculty can gain access to NYTimes.com and NYTimes app from any device that connects to the internet, whether you’re on- or off-campus.
To get started you’ll first need to create an account within our New York Times subscription, while on-campus (distance learners can contact the Reference Desk for help setting up their account). Visit https://myaccount.nytimes.com/grouppass/access to register (you must use your Eastern email address). Once you’ve registered while on-campus, you’ll now have access to NYTimes.com and the NYTimes app from off-campus.

Additionally, we now have access to the New York Times archive, called TimesMachine. With your New York Times account, you can browse issues from 1851-1980. Visit http://timesmachine.nytimes.com/browser to search it.
